Mahou Sensei Negima Chapter 269

Just wanted to give an update on that status of this chapter. Chapter 269 will be released through Binktopia since I'm now a member there and a few others helped me out. It's pretty much done and is just waiting for QC, so should be out by later today. I'll update this post when it is all ready for download. :)

Sorry it took a while, but this chapter required a lot of editing (14 of 18 pages needed redrawing, one of which took almost 2 hours). Decided to change the fonts a little bit this time and I kinda like the result. Feel free to leave comments!

Because Raw-Paradise has changed their raws to 2500 px instead of 1400 px, I might be able to use those now instead of Rena-Chans and get a good result. If this is the case, I'd be able to release a lot sooner in the week. I'll check them out and if I'm satisfied with the result, I'll use those from now on. If it doesn't come out as good though, I'll wait for Rena-Chan's. I'd personally rather wait for good quality. :)

EDIT: Just a head's up, my future releases will be most likely through Binktopia. I was informed if a member was particularly dedicated to a series (as I am), it's general policy to adopt it and have other members pitch in to help if they aren't busy. I'll still probably update here whenever a new one comes out for the time being, but I'll likely just link to the Binktopia release page. So look forward to it! :)

EDIT2: Looks like R-P still has 1400 px Negima scans instead of 2500, so seems I'll be staying with Rena's. :)

Mahou Sensei Negima c260 Redone

I was recently accepted into Binktopia after finishing their training there, and in an attempt to become as awesome of the rest of then decided to practice the new cleaning techniques I learned there. Since Negima 260 was noticeably lower quality than the rest of my releases here, I decided to redo it from scratch for those people (like myself) that archive their manga and like to have the best quality available for re-reads. :)

Here's a comparison of old and new, just to give you an idea of the difference (click to enlarge).

Anyways, since it's an old release, only uploaded it to a few places for now. Enjoy.

Regarding future scans, I do plan on continuing to produce them as long as my time allows. I generally will update on MangaUpdates whenever I finish a new one, as well as here. They'll of course appear on MangaToshokan when I upload there as well.

Sorry this is a bit late, but the raw was behind a day or two due to shipping delays in Japan and the chapter itself took a while to clean due to quite a bit of redrawing. I tried to take a bit more care with the drawings and dust cleaning this week, and I think it shows. :)

I noticed a bit ago that Ala Atra scans did MSN 266 as well. If they plan to continue to release MSN weekly, I may drop my own scans, as they do a fine job of a MQ/HQ release, in my opinion. I'll see if I can get on their forums or IRC and ask them sometime this week, and I'll post my plans here when I know.

So, I was bored again and noticed I got my hands on Rena-Chan's raw before any other scanlation groups posted their version of this (that I've seen). I think it came out pretty well, but I must admit I didn't even bother trying to fill in the gap on the double-page spread for pages 10 and 11 because I know I couldn't make it look good with my current cloning/redrawing skills. Let your imagination fill in the gap! :p

This time, I wanted to test some new denoise filters and was very pleased with the results. I chose this chapter because the version I had from other groups had some typesetting errors, which I've corrected in this version.

I was unhappy with the fact all the scans of MSN c260 used a different translator than cnet (who normally does them, but was unavailable and was delayed), so here's my own release using his trans. Quality is LQ/MQ, as I was learning some new denoise and burning techniques, but I'd say it's comparable to all the other releases I've seen.

New Blog, Occasional Scans

So, I've long been a reader of manga and only recently started looking into the world of scanlating, largely out of boredom. My time is a bit too limited to work with a real group, but I do occasionally edit chapters of whatever I'm reading at the time if I feel that the released versions aren't up to my OCD standards. With that in mind, I'm still relatively inexperienced with Photoshop, so am learning a lot.

Anyways, whenever I make something that I think is worth sharing, I'll post download links and make an update here.

If you appreciate something here, let me know and if there is good demand and I have time, I may make stuff more frequently.
